Book Review: Brittney Saunders - Just Getting Started

I swear, eventually I will find the time to do more than just post book reviews, but at the moment I am just so busy with looking after a family member part time, working part time and working on my business part time I just struggle to find the time.

Anyway, today’s book review is the newly launched book by Brittney Saunders - Just Getting Started.

I have to say I am new to the cult that is Fayt after a colleague introduced me to Brittney early this year.
Once I saw her story and found out more about her and her label - I was OBSESSED.

Not having followed her during her influencer and Youtube days I didn’t know too much about her personal story or how she got to be the owner or started Fayt the label.

So when I saw her book being advertised, I jumped at the opportunity to buy it on my first trip into her Parramatta store after getting a pair of what I can only describe as the most comfortable jeans I have probably ever worn in my 33 years of living.

So what’s her book about? Well a bit of everything.

It goes into her early beginnings and the path that slowly unfolded to her journey of being an influencer. It also talks about her personal life revealing the troubled childhood and adolescence she had in the sense she did not have the greatest home life or support system with her parents, and how she believes that probably has had a big part in her drive and journey to being a business owner. This book is written not in a preachy ‘I’m the greatest’ kind of way, a narrative often displayed in many biography business books, but in a very humble relatable way, the kind of way a friend would encourage you to chase your goals if you were chatting with them at brunch.

Brittney also goes into some of the does and don’ts that she wouldn’t do if she had her time again, and they she would and wouldn’t recommend to others who are looking to have their own business.

I think my favourite part though is her revealing what her goals are at the end of the book, I won’t reveal them, but by the end of the book I totally believed that she would have them all met 10 years from now based on her past trajectory and mindset.

This book is great for you if you are also on your own journey in starting a side hustle or business, or if you are unsure about starting your own business journey. I would say this is more of a motivational biography.

This book isn’t for you if you want an in depth heavy how to of how to start a business or fashion boutique.

I would rate this book 7/10 ( I would have loved to have read more about some of the challenges and lessons she learned is business with more in depth examples, but hey, this gal is for sure going to write more books in future so fingers crossed ).
